Hi there.

I’m one of those sickos who always wanted to be in advertising. As a kid I recorded radio spots (most cured diarrhea) on cassette tapes. I studied the fake ads in Mad Magazine. I hung campaigns on my walls. Eventually I got my hands on a beaten up copy of Ogilvy on Advertising and things got real.

I went to Syracuse University to study advertising at the Newhouse School of Communications. It was there I learned the idea of concept above all. In 1997, I enrolled in the newly formed VCU Ad Center. Days and nights were spent pouring over One Show books, filling reams of Moleskines, and discovering that the best ads don’t look or sound like ads.

It worked. I landed my first job at Ammirati Puris Lintas to work on the Dell account. I learned to think and write fast and to never say no to an assignment. With hard work, great partners and a little luck I navigated the NYC ad industry. I helped Gotham win their first ever Cannes Lion. I helped Oglivy re-brand and grow the iconic Nationwide account. I’ve been fortunate to do award-winning work at some of my dream shops and learn from creative leaders I’ve always admired.

Last year I co-founded a brand innovation studio. Was it a crazy idea to help launch a company during a turbulent time for the ad industry? Yes it was, but you have to be a little crazy to be in advertising. I’m beyond grateful to help some of the most innovative companies grow their brands. But I have yet to work on a brief to cure diarrhea. I live in Port Washington, NY with my wife, three boys, and our 100 lbs shepherd mix. When I’m not working, I’m working on my single stroke rolls around the drum kit.
